Ergometer Calibration Service

Ergometer Calibration Service

Overview

Ergometers that are used as medical devices must be annually checked with a metrological control (MTK). Ergotest 550 has the highest measurement accuracy required for this and can be calibrated by Stark Medical.

Dynamic Ergometer Calibration Service

For medical diagnostic ergometers and blood pressure monitors, All brands (such as Ergoline, Cosmed, Cortex, Norav,  Custo-Med, VIAsprint can be calibrated with Dynamic Load Calibration.

According to the regulations and guidelines of the Medical Devices Regulations and Australian Standards, maintenance by specialists

Why?

  1. Guarantee for precise and, above all correct loading in the low range between 10-100 watts for seriously ill patients who are not able to withstand heavy loads and also at high load levels such as in sports medicine.
  1. Only reliable and precise ergometry results in an exact diagnosis.
  1. Regulation according to the guidelines of the Medical Device Regulation (AS3551:2012)
  1. Readjustment/calibration after repair/maintenance

How

  1. The ergometer is tested dynamically in the entire work range you require with different revolutions per minute and with all required load steps.
  1. To do this, we use a special calibrator (ergotest 550 certified according to the Euro standard) which tests and records the ergometer under software control according to the desired protocol at different speeds at different load levels.

Only with this dynamic testing method can you be sure that your ergometer is working properly in the most important load range. This is particularly important for the diagnosis of patients with very light loads who only reach low load levels, for example between 0-100 watts. The same applies to high levels of stress in sports medicine.

Why dynamic and not static? Static testing and calibration methods with calibrated weights do not include the corresponding speed required in the formula for power calculation
