Dear valued customer, thank you for your recent purchase of the ATMOS-Medap Bora suction unit from Stark Medical. This guide will go through the necessary steps to set up your suction unit with the optional trolley.
This guide will cover in detail how to:
- Correctly set up your BORA suction unit with it's accessories.
- How to mount your unit to the trolley (if applicable)
- How to mount and connect your suction canister and liner to the unit
The stand trolley for the Bora suction is an optional extra and is sold separately. If you would like to add a trolley stand for your suction unit please contact Stark Medical.
Assembling the trolley
The first step is to assemble the trolley stand. You will find all the components of the stand packed together in a flat pack. The contents are:
- Trolley base on wheels
- Stand pole
- Suction mount rail
- Stand plate
Construct the trolley according to the provided instructions.
Unpackage the Bora suction unit and carefully place it onto the stand plate and secure it in place by tightening the knob from underneath.
Your unit is now ready to add the accessories. Please follow the steps below to connect the canister and tubing.
1. Attach the rail adapter
Attach the supplied adapter to the rail. This is necessary to mount our re-usable suction canisters.
2. Mount the canister
Mount the reusable canister by sliding it into the rail adapter.
3. Connect the suction tube
Connect one end of the supplied suction tubing to the port underneath the red attachment of the canister.
4. Add the hose adapter
Connect the supplied hose adapter to the other end of the suction tubing.
5. Insert suction tube
Connect the suction tubing with the adapter to the port on the back-right hand side of the unit.
6. Insert the suction liner
Place a suction liner inside the reusable canister and secure firmly by pushing down.
7. Connect the canister and lid
Connect the canister and liner together by attaching the red suction tube to the port labelled 'vacuum' on the suction liner lid.
8. Ensure caps are closed
Ensure that all other caps on the suction liner lid are closed, otherwise air will leak, and you will not get suction through the patient connection.
9. Connect patient tube
Insert your patient suction tube to the port labelled 'patient' on the suction liner lid.
10. Connect to mains power
Plug the AC power cord into the back of the unit and connect to mains power.
Your system is now ready for operation.
